La Defense, in the suburbs, is the first European business district by the scope of its offices market. It is located in the Hauts-de-Seine, west from Neuilly-sur-Seine and in the extension of the historical Parisian axis, which starts from The Louvre museum and continues to the avenue des Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, until the bridge of Neuilly and the Great Arch of La Defense.

The Hauts-de-Seine hosts regularly many musical festivals, mainly in the park of Saint-Cloud and on the Parvis de La Défense, from where are generally also launched fireworks.
